CBS boss Les Moonves resigns after misconduct allegations

CBS reaches deal with CEO Leslie Moonves amid new sexual harassment claims

She also touched on the weird email she received from a CBS board member following her Trump photoshoot scandal. The idea of CBS merging with Viacom, meanwhile, was less attractive to investors. Instead, the donation will give CBS and Moonves some cover amid criticism of the potential payout. National Amusement would be allowed to push CBS to form a new board. The idea of such a deal had been a source of tension for CBS management.

Last year, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, he "earned almost seventy million dollars, making him one of the highest-paid corporate executives in the world", according to reports. Jeff Fager, executive producer of 60 Minutes, has been accused by six women who said he inappropriately touched them.

The question now is how much of an exit package Moonves may get.

"The board will make a determination whether the company has grounds to terminate the employment of Mr. Moonves for cause under his employment agreement within thirty (30) days following completion of the final report of the independent investigators in the current internal investigation, but in no event later than January 31, 2019", the SEC filing stated.

In later incidents, Golden-Gottlieb says Moonves left his office and returned not wearing trousers and that he threw her against a wall.

Moonves, 68, who turned CBS from an aging radio and TV broadcaster into a provider of shows to digital platforms, was expected to reap an estimated $100 million in severance. Moonves will not receive any severance benefits at this time, and any payments to be made in the future will depend upon the results of the independent investigation.

Jorginho had agreed to join Manchester City before Chelsea move, says agent
He said: "When you see the [Champions League] draw on TV, the groups and your team is not there, I felt like smashing the TV set". The midfielder is well acquainted with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri , having played under him for three seasons at Napoli .

Julie Chen is taking time off her gig on CBS' "The Talk" to be with husband, Les Moonves, who just resigned from heading up the network amid sexual misconduct allegations, and Sharon Osbourne says people at CBS - including the ladies at "The Talk" - are fearful of losing their jobs.

The latest article by Ronan Farrow, whose reporting about Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein helped spark the #metoo movement against sexual abuse, quotes the new group of women as saying Moonves forced them, at times violently, to perform oral sex on him, or that he exposed himself to them. "I have never used my position to hinder the advancement or careers of women", Moonves said.

Moonves issued a statement on Sunday night, citing "untrue allegations" about his behavior. Janet, on the other hand, did not see a reason to apologize and it's for that reason that Moonves reportedly held an "ire and vengefulness" grudge against her. Moonves' feelings towards Janet may have had something to do with the reported blacklisting of her music from MTV.

On Sunday Moonves stepped down from the company he has led for 15 years, after the New Yorker published an article detailing new sexual harassment allegations against him. Jo Ann Ross, the head of advertising sales, has worked at CBS for 25 years.

On one level, this is a clear victory for Redstone, whose father Sumner Redstone bought CBS nearly twenty years ago. Moonves has the right to take CBS into binding arbitration.

On "CBS This Morning", anchor Norah O'Donnell addressed the new allegations and Moonves's departure, as she had months ago when her co-host Charlie Rose left the network after several women accused him of harassment. The women in Sunday's report echoed descriptions of a culture of playing down accusations and promoting men even after the company settled allegations against them.
