Nick Saban Called ESPN Reporter Maria Taylor Last Night

Ohio State RB

Nick Saban is getting sick and exhausted of fielding questions about Alabama's quarterback situation. Alabama enters the game as heavy favorites so we expect to see both Tagovailoa and Hurts at different points, but the Cardinals are hoping to make this game much closer than the experts have predicted.

Tua Tagovailoa completed 12-of-16 pass attempts for 227 yards and two touchdowns. The timeshare seemingly offered clarity to what's been a polarizing QB debate since last season's College Football Playoff National Championship Game, but that didn't stop ESPN's Maria Taylor from bringing up the topic during a postgame interview with Saban.

Saban refused to name a starting quarterback before Saturday night's game, even going so far as to refuse to tell Taylor who would go out on the field first right before the kickoff. "I think both guys are good players", he said. "So why do you continually try to get me to say something that doesn't respect one of 'em? I'm not going to, so quit asking", Saban said. Could Saban have handled that one better?

The Alabama head coach reportedly called Taylor late on Saturday night to apologize, per ESPN insider James Miller.

"What answers did you have about your quarterbacks after watching both of them play tonight?" she asked.
