Twitter says it won't ban conspiracy theorist Alex Jones

InfoWars Appears To Have Been Kicked Off Pinterest Which It Was On Apparently

However, Twitter's CEO has spoken up and said that they will not ban Alex Jones from their platform.

The social media chief acknowledged Jones' sensational claims but said they don't automatically cross the terms of Twitter's user policies.

The CEO and co-founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, explained the company's decision in a series of tweets on Tuesday night, noting that Jones, owner of the InfoWars website, hadn't violated any of its rules.

But Dorsey said it's not up to Twitter to disown him.

Alex Jones is no longer welcome at Apple.

He has "built a vast audience" peddling theories that include claims that the 9/11 attacks were staged by the United States government and that the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 was "faked by left-wing forces to promote gun control", the newspaper says.

In August 2013, we added a section explicitly prohibiting "targeted harassment" to the Twitter Rules under the "Abuse and Spam" category. Information posted by InfoWars is often not published on Twitter and replies to InfoWar tweets typically include people challenging the assertions, the spokesperson also noted.

Manchester City off to a flying start with Shield win
Bravo fumbled another Hudson-Odoi strike moments later, with the rebound hacked away as the Chelsea winger caused increasing problems.

The "Late Show" host brought back a Jones-like character called Tuck Buckford to parody Jones and Infowars in reaction to the news. Podcasts like "The Alex Jones Show" and "War Room" have been pulled from all of Apple's directories, but the company has left up the less popular InfoWars podcast "Real News With David Knight".

Dorsey said he wanted Twitter to avoid succumbing to outside pressure but instead impartially enforce straightforward principles "regardless of political viewpoints".

"This is what serves the public conversation best", he added.

Further in Dorsey's thread, he said it was up to journalists to "document, validate, and refute" claims like Jones'.

The company is resisting pressure to follow suit, clarifying that Jones has not yet broken its rules.

The company continues to allow Jones to remain on the site and he is using his verified Twitter account to decry the so-called "censorship" he and Infowars are experiencing.

Technology companies have been under pressure to ban Jones for promoting misinformation, including claims the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012 was staged by the government and stating the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack was an "inside job".
