Chelsea offer Kante £290k-a-week

Chelsea have, according to The Times, offered midfielder and World Cup victor N'Golo Kante a new contract - in a deal that is worth £290,000-a-week, which in turn would make the Frenchman the club's highest paid player in Chelsea history.

Kante played in every France game at the World Cup and recovered the ball more often than any other member of the squad. We're incredibly lucky to have him at the club.

Despite a strong World Cup performance that saw him score three goals in Russian Federation, the defender has been pushed further down the Barca depth chart with the arrival of Clement Lenglet. Never leave my club Sheikh Ngolo Kante.

The newspaper reports that Chelsea have moved to cement Kante's future at Stamford Bridge and that the new contract would see him overtake Eden Hazard as the club's top earner.

Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Gonzalo Higuain despite interest from AC Milan, the Daily Mirror reports.

"And you must not only be willing to hand over the keys for the next one to put in the door, but you also must be positive about it".

The Blues, however, are open to selling star keeper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid in a £35m deal.

The Premier League giants have chose to put other irons in fire and it has been claimed that they have opened a parallel track towards Barcelona defender Mina.

Chelsea offered the keeper a new deal but the player has reportedly declined it. And they will give Rojo the chance to add more medals to his collection after four years at Manchester United in which he has lifted the FA Cup and the Europa League title.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are prepared to let go of the Colombian global just six months after signing him from Palmeiras.
