Korea Constructs New Missiles While Trump Claims Denuclearization Success

North Korea Might Be Working On New ICBMs

Satellite photos and other evidence indicates that efforts were underway to assemble at least one, and possibly two, liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles, the Post reported, citing unidentified officials familiar with USA intelligence who spoke on the condition of anonymity. According to The Post, the officials said the new information reveals that work is potentially taking place on one or two liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles in Sanumdong, a suburb of Pyongyang.

Besides reducing the amount of troops and weapons they are armed with, McBride said talks about the disputed sea border between North and South Korea could also be on the agenda.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday played down the significance of the Post report.

Together, Pompeo's testimony and the new assessment confirm that North Korea continues to not only produce ballistic missiles capable of threatening the United States, but also fissile material to create new warheads to sit atop those missiles. "Things don't change overnight", Conway later added.

If North Korea's Kim Jong Un wants to attend the 2018 Asian Games, he need not worry, according to Indonesian envoys in Pyongyang this week.

Just last week, satellite images emerged that appeared to show North Korea dismantling a key Sohae satellite launching station.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will urge Asian countries at an upcoming meeting in Singapore to enforce United Nations sanctions on North Korea aimed at dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear program, a US official said Tuesday.

The Sanumdong factory produced two Hwasong-15 ICBMs, North Korea's furthest-reaching missile which can fly more than 13,000km, putting the the US East Coast within its reach.

Trump hails USA economic growth spurt, promises more ahead
The impact on nominal export growth was drastic - it hit 10% annualized growth in August, but fell to near-zero in December. Trump said the pace of growth was "very sustainable" and could create as many as 12 million jobs over the next decade.

The Pentagon estimates that almost 7,700 US troops are unaccounted for from the war; among them are 5,300 believed to have been killed north of the 38th parallel, which largely follows the boundary between North and South Korea.

United States soldiers salute during a repatriation ceremony for the remains of U.S. soldiers who were killed in the Korean War and collected in North Korea, at the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

There have also been reports that North Korea is operating a uranium enrichment facility in secret. About 5,300 were lost in what is now North Korea.

So we got our hostages back, but they've blown up one of their sites, one of their testing sites, their primary testing site, in fact some people say their only testing site, they are getting rid of a missile, which isn't in the document, that was done afterwards, they're getting rid of a missile testing site - they're doing so much now.

Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in signed the Panmunjom Declaration in April, which saw them agreeing to work together to begin a process of reconciliation and put an end to decades of conflict on the Korean Peninsula. The soldier's family had been notified, though it was not clear if his remains were among those found, Byrd said.

But the actual details of the process, including how and when the North's nuclear program is to be dismantled, have yet to be worked out.

In the past, North Korea turned over commingled remains.

But some independent analysts think the Trump administration has misread Kim's intentions, interpreting his commitment to eventual denuclearization as a promise to immediately surrender the country's nuclear arsenal and dismantle its weapons factories.
