Liverpool signs Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson from Roma

Alisson kept three clean sheets in five games for Brazil at this summer's World Cup

Liverpool signed Brazil worldwide Alisson from AS Roma on Thursday, smashing the world record for a goalkeeper in a deal worth up to £65 million (S$115.56m).

The Reds have not revealed how much they have paid for the 25-year-old but it is reported to be about £66.8m - a world record for a keeper.

Alisson had kept three clean sheets in Russian Federation prior to that 2-1 Belgium defeat, while he recorded 17 cleans sheets from 37 Serie A games last season. "You can be certain that I'll give my all", Alisson told liverpoolfc.com.

On Wednesday, Italian website Forza Roma, which is affiliated to newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, published a video which it said showed Alisson at Rome's Ciampino airport.

Liverpool completed its signing of goalkeeper Alisson Becker on Thursday, the team announced.

Alisson broke the world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper after completing his move to the Premier League side for £65m.

The Brazilian also revealed a text conversation he had with former Roma team-mate Mohamed Salah as he was finalising his move to Liverpool, with the Egyptian asking what was taking so long.

Newspaper headlines: PM warns ‘there may be no Brexit’
The Labour leader looks certain to confront her over the turmoil in Tory ranks over her Brexit plans. She said: "I voted to Remain originally but I don't think we should now back down".

Liverpool's new signing Fabinho has said he will try to persuade Kylian Mbappe to move to the club.

And now, Liverpool have gone a step further and put up a statement by breaking the bank to sign highly-rated Brazilian #1.

"How we all do, he needs to adapt to the English Premier League, that's how it is".

"Liverpool are heading in the right direction to challenge them".

Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco is desperate to seek revenge on Alisson Becker after he signed for Liverpool.

I'm really happy with our signings to be honest, so now let's use the last few weeks to be as good as possible.

"That game definitely did have an influence but I also watched other games". I hope we are in a situation where we don't need to think about using these two against West Ham. Liverpool's necessity to buy a new goalkeeper was magnified during the Champions League final when Loris Karius made two costly mistakes.
