In this Friday, July 13, 2018 photo, a Greenpeace protester flying a microlight passes over US President's Donald Trump's resort in Turnberry, South Ayrshire, Scotland with a banner reading "Trump: Well Below Par", shortly after the US President arrived at the hotel.

Demonstrators rallied for Trump's arrival in Britain Thursday, massing at several sites he visited, ahead of a mass protest expected to draw thousands on Friday. Earlier, the BBC reported that police were investigating how a paraglider was able to fly close to Trump's Turnberry resort with a banner that read, "Trump: Well below par".

There has been no word from Donald Trump about how welcome he feels in Scotland, but to be greeted like this in his own resort is certain to dampen his mood after a tense United Kingdom trip, which the British media dubbed "as a wrecking visit by the ally from hell".

Trump is set to depart Scotland on Sunday (July 15) for a meeting with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.

Eli Roth, 56, who is from California but lives in Edinburgh, said he hopes the protests will encourage people in the U.S.to "fight the Trump regime".

Most of the controversy has centred on his other course, known as Trump International Golf Links.

In the most detailed US accusation to date that Moscow meddled in the presidential election, a federal grand jury said Russian military intelligence agency officers covertly monitored computers of Clinton's campaign and Democratic campaign committees, and stole large amounts of data.

Ms Sturgeon, speaking at the Pride march in Glasgow, said she had been a "wee bit tickled" by reports Mr Trump "hates her" and has been "bitching" about her to Theresa May.

Theresa May in trouble as Brexit chief quits
The tousle-headed blond Johnson is one of Britain's best-known politicians, and one of the most prominent advocates for Brexit. British foreign secretary Boris Johnson resigned his post on Monday over a disagreement on the UK's Brexit strategy.

Mr Trump then flew to Scotland.

NPR's Alice Fordham spoke with comedian Janey Godley, a prominent Trump critic, who said many Scots admired the locals who demonstrated against Trump.

"I came out to say that Donald Trump is not welcome in Scotland", said Broussard, adding she was disgusted by Trump's orders to separate children from their parents when caught illegally crossing the U.S. -Mexico border - a policy now on hold.

"Today's charges include no allegations of knowing involvement by anyone on the campaign and no allegations that the alleged hacking affected the election result". The "Trump baby" blimp depicting the president as a diaper-clad infant, unveiled Friday amid widespread protests against the president in London, also made an appearance.

"So amusing! I just checked out Fake News CNN, for the first time in a long time (they are dying in the ratings), to see if they covered my takedown yesterday of Jim Acosta (actually a nice guy)".

Trump questioned why Barack Obama had not acted on claims of Russian meddling if the Federal Bureau of Investigation had informed the then president ahead of the 2016 election.

The resort is one of the two golf hotels owned by Trump in Scotland.

But for many British diplomats, Brexit marks the collapse of a 70-year strategy of trying to balance European integration with a USA alliance based on blood, trade and intelligence sharing. I don't think you'll have any "Gee, I did it".
