Papa John's logo to change after founder uses N-word

Papa John Schnatter- The Founder CEO & President of Papa John's Pizza

Schnatter, who was a longtime visible presence in Papa John's commercial campaigns, admitted to making a racial slur during a company conference call in May.

The slur occurred during a media training conference call in May between top staff at Papa John's and a marketing agency called Laundry Service. Of that total, $14 million came from Schnatter personally and the remaining through Papa John's worldwide on a deal that runs through 2040.

Still, Hollingsworth said he doesn't think the latest Schnatter incident will hurt Papa John's over the long run because people often have short memories. When asked how he would distance himself from racist groups, Schnatter reportedly complained that Colonel Sanders never faced a backlash for using the word.

MLB's "Papa Slam" promotion gave people discounts on pizza when players hit grand slams.

The Minnesota Twins have "indefinitely suspended" the worldwide pizza chain from their Minneapolis stadium, Twins communications director Dustin Morse says.

"The Marlins are committed to an inclusive environment for all of our fans", the Marlins said in their brief statement announcing the suspension of Papa John's-related activities.

The Player: Beal is another corner with good size and length, measuring at nearly 6-1 and 178 pounds with over a 72-inch wingspan. Based on what he's put on tape, production and athletic testing, Beal could potentially go in the second round of a normal draft.

McConnell says he isn't aware of the contractual agreements on the stadium naming but expressed confidence that new university president Neeli Bendapudi would handle it "very well".

"Papa John's is not an individual". He said the comment was taken out of context but that he nevertheless felt "sick" about the incident.

"When we started working with the University of Kentucky to create the John H. Schnatter Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise in 2015, our focus was, and remains to this day, the students, who benefit from understanding the role free markets play in the economy and society". Major League Baseball axed its "Papa Slam" promotion earlier this week; the University of Louisville announced it's working to rename Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Schnatter stepped down as CEO previous year after blaming slowing sales growth on the outcry surrounding football players kneeling during the national anthem.

While Papa John's was once ubiquitous with the sports world, it's partnerships have fallen off over the past few months due to Schnatter's actions.

Papa John's isn't the only pizza option at Target Field.
