Federer walks out at Wimbledon in Uniqlo shirt, not Nike

Andy Murray only recently made his comeback from a long injury lay-off

Roger Federer strode out onto the pristine Wimbledon surface this afternoon wearing Uniqlo branded clothing for the very first time.

Roger Federer made light work of Dusan Lajovic as he began his quest for a ninth Wimbledon title with a 6-1 6-3 6-4 victory. But the defending champion caused an upset of sorts off the courts, as he walked in with his new Uniqlo kit, ending months of speculation over the end of his deal with Nike.

"I'm very happy, I felt good from the start too which was nice and that was not the case a year ago against him".

His sponsorship with Nike expired in March and he had been playing and practicing with older kits, saying he was still in talks over his apparel sponsor.

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer is still looking for a new shoe contract but says he has had interest from former sponsor Nike.

"The RF logo is with Nike, but it will come to me at some point", he added.

Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., opened with a 7-5, 6-0, 6-1 victory over Britain's Liam Broady while Peter Polansky, also of Thornhill, dropped his first-round match to Austria's Dennis Novak.

Bourdain leaves bulk of $1.2M estate to 11-year-old daughter
His documentation lists a mortgage worth $1.1 million, but it isn't clear what property it's in reference to. Bourdain appointed Ottavia to oversee the trust until Ariane , the primary beneficiary, comes of age.

"Uniqlo will help Mr. Federer continue taking tennis to new places while exploring innovations in a number of areas including technology and design with him", Uniqlo founder and chairman Tadashi Yanai said in a statement.

"So the "RF" logo is with Nike at the moment, but it will come to me at some point", Federer said. It's also something that was very important for me, for the fans really.

'In terms of matches over here, if you are not completely focused one or two points can cost you a set. They are my initials. "I got the early break in each set and then was able to bring it home".

"I felt guilty", Williams said about her time in Paris.

The Williams siblings aren't playing doubles in this tournament, the way they did at Roland Garros, and that's a good thing for Mom: It gives her more time with her child. Nike reportedly paid Federer $10 million a year beginning in 2008.

The tennis star donned the Japanese brand at his Wimbledon match on Monday, but for now has kept his Nike shoes.
