Apple Music Passes Spotify in Total U.S. Subscriber Numbers

Apple Music might have overtaken Spotify and have more paying US subscribers

SiriusXM satellite radio, which does not offer specific songs on demand, beats both Apple and Spotify with 33 million paid USA subscribers. In February, The Wall Street Journal reported that Spotify's monthly paid subscriber growth rate in the United States was at 2% compared to Apple Music's 5%.

A new report, which says Apple Music has just surpassed the once-titan of the streaming audio space, comes by way of Digital Music News who has a source at a "US-based, major [music] distributor" with insight into the exact numbers. The data was specifically referring to paid users as well, so no one still on either Apple or Spotify's free trial was included. This overtaking doesn't appear to be surprising - numerous reports over the past few months have noted Apple Music's accelerated growth in favor of Spotify, which logically lead to Cupertino dethroning the older streaming service. Apple Music, however, is "a hair ahead", which is not a surprise.

His documentation lists a mortgage worth $1.1 million, but it isn't clear what property it's in reference to. Bourdain appointed Ottavia to oversee the trust until Ariane , the primary beneficiary, comes of age.

In February, it was reported that the number of Spotify paid subscribers worldwide was double compared to Apple Music, but it was believed that Apple Music will catch up by the summer. Spotify has over 70 million subscribers globally and about 160 million total users. In other markets like Canada and the U.K., Apple is also making faster strides with its subscription growth rate.

Looked at more broadly, however, Apple serves what should be a fairly narrow market of iPhone owners, where Spotify is popular on both Android and iPhone. The paper calculated that Spotify was growing at 2% per month while Apple Music was at 5%. However, the figure is no match to Spotify's 75 million paid subscribers as of March 31.
