OIS at Sherman Oaks barricade, suspect reportedly former UCLA athlete

Armed, barricaded suspect may be former NBA, UCLA basketball star: report

Former UCLA star and National Basketball Association player Tyler Honeycutt died after a standoff with police on Saturday morning, per multiple reports.

When SWAT officers entered the residence around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, police located an "unresponsive male" and pronounced Honeycutt dead at the scene, according to a tweet from the LAPD.

An officer at the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Division told Yahoo Sports on Saturday morning that because the case is still under investigation, he could not provide further details or confirm the involvement of Honeycutt.

According to ABC7, the suspect's mother called police to say her son was acting "erratically".

While initial reports suggested Honeycutt may have been hit by police fire, the LAPD tweeted that the suspect "sustained injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound".

Moves , tbh , and Hello will cease to exist in a few weeks because the social media giant will deprecate them due to low usage. Facebook acquired tbh - which stands for the popular texting acronym "to be honest" - for an undisclosed sum last October.

No officers were injured in the shooting, authorities said.

Honeycutt, 27, was the No. 28 ranked player in the country coming out of Sylmar High School in California. He was declared dead at the scene by the fire department. BC Khimki expresses its deepest condolences to Tyler's family and friends... He appeared in 24 games for the Kings in two seasons, spending most of his time in the Kings' G-League affiliate, Reno Bighorns.

UCLA forward Tyler Honeycutt plays against Oregon State in the first half Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Pauley Pavilion in Westwood.

He had been playing overseas since 2013. For the past few years, he had bounced back and forth between Khimki and Anadolu Efes in Turkey.

The site has since removed Honeycutt's name from the report.
