Heather Locklear arrested on new battery charges

Lethal weapon Heather Locklear is back in jail for allegedly punching a police officer and kicked a paramedic on Sunday night

Actress Heather Locklear's mugshot after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer on June 24.

The former Melrose Place actress was reportedly taken into custody on Sunday night just before midnight, according to TMZ.

Locklear was charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Battery Upon An Officer And Emergency Personnel. She was held on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to make her first court appearance Tuesday.

For Locklear, 56, "this is her second arrest for battery of deputies", the story notes. Locklear, who is facing four counts of misdemeanor battery on an officer and one charge of resisting or obstructing an officer from the incident, entered a not guilty plea in April.

Sheriff's deputies responded to two separate calls to Locklear's residence in Thousand Oaks, California.

Police said that they were able to diffuse the situation which involved Heisser complaining about Locklear's "erratic" behavior, and Locklear accusing her fiance of cheating. During the arrest, she also attacked a cop. The site reports that 911 was called to Heather's house for a "disturbance", and that the actress was allegedly "extremely agitated" and "heavily intoxicated" when officials arrived. TMZ, citing sources, reported the actress has been released and said to be voluntarily checking herself into a hospital for treatment for alcohol abuse and mental heath issues. She could not be reached for comment as of press time.
