The Queen's Birthday Parade: Best Photos

Kate Middleton

Meghan fit right in with her pale pink dress and asymmetrical hat, beaming like the new bride she is.

Case in point: The off-the-shoulder dress she wore the Queen's 92nd birthday parade aka the annual Trooping the Colour tradition.

The British media is reporting neither Prince Harry, nor Prince William and Catherine, have travelled on the royal train before, so the invitation from the Queen is considered a mark of her high regard for Meghan.

In the ceremonial celebration of the queen's birthday, which is actually in April, over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together each June in a display of military precision and horsemanship. But now that Prince Philip, 97 on Sunday, has retired, she's taking relatives more and more frequently.

The ceremony culminates with a magnificent balcony appearance by the Royal Family.

As with previous years, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall are expected to take part in the Queen's carriage procession.

Her Majesty travels by carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade across St. James's Park to inspect her personal troops - and the Royal Family always comes out in full force to help her celebrate. Meghan has become particularly close to her father-in-law, who walked her down the aisle and was instrumental in helping Meghan and Harry with wedding planning.

So far, it seems Meghan has impressed Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen ditched the sunglasses she had been wearing since a recent cataract operation, the Daily Mail reported. It's a hairstyle choice that her sister-in-law, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has learned-after much criticism-should not be used for such events, especially when the winds will play havoc. Last year's Trooping the Colour was their mother Kate's seventh; she has not missed a single parade since she married Prince William in 2011.

Here is this year's Trooping the colour, just in case you missed it.

Meghan is fitting right in.
