Man Utd fans think they may be close to signing Fred

It would be a big surprise if United actually signed another attacking player, considering Mourinho said in February that he wouldn't be signing any more forwards in the summer.

Mourinho needs to strengthen his squad if United are to compete with the likes of Manchester City for top honours next season and a new right-back is a priority.

Fred has been linked with Manchester United since the January transfer window, while Manchester City, too, were believed to be keen on the midfielder, with reports of the Citizens making an offer for the 25-year old also surfacing.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have given a nod to Arsenal's pursuit of forward, Ousmane Dembele and the French global might be seen moving to the Premier League next season.

Brad Pitt 'threatened to kill Harvey Weinstein' claims Gwyneth Paltrow
Weinstein (66) has consistently denied all allegations of non-consensual sex. Paltow, to this day, is grateful for what her then-boyfriend did for her.

And while United are now the club leading the charge for the Brazil worldwide, Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov insists that he is expecting offers this summer to be no lower than the one which City submitted in January.

Speaking of his contract extension at Barca ahead of next month World Cup in Russia, Umtiti told reporters, "On my contract extension, I have no news". With little hope of extending his current deal, the report claims they may be willing to let him leave for a fee of around £50m. That is, I can somewhat feel that Fred will be more expensive than Fernandinho and Teixeira. The Frenchman has struggled for opportunities at United following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last January and missed out on a place in Didier Deschamps World Cup squad. He also started in their Champions League campaign, and helped them beat none other than Manchester City in the group stages.

Fred played an important role in Shakhtar's title win in Ukraine this season.
