Turkey's President Erdogan wraps up first official United Kingdom visit

Erdogan: Cyprus Oil Drilling Is A Security Threat To East Mediterranean

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on May 15 called on the world's more than 1.5 billion Muslims to "band together" over the Palestinian cause after more than 60 people were killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.

Meanwhile, In a similar development, The Palestinian Authority has also recalled its envoys to Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria after their ambassadors attended an Israeli reception marking the United States embassy's move to Jerusalem.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed on Tuesday that a planned summit this week of the worlds main pan-Islamic body would send a "strong message" after Israeli forces killed dozens of Palestinians along the Gaza border.

Turkey began observing three days of national mourning on Tuesday declared by Erdogan for the Palestinian dead, with flags flying at half-mast and cultural events cancelled.

Turkey has also recalled its ambassadors to Israel and the United States over the Gaza situation.

Furthermore, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an emergency meeting in Istanbul regarding Palestine on May 18.

Israel responded by ordering the Turkish consul in Jerusalem, Hüsnü Gürcan Türkoğlu, to leave for an unspecified period of time, its foreign ministry said.

Turkey has also asked Israel's consul general in Istanbul to leave as part of the expanding diplomatic spat between the countries.

"The dispute appears to mark the worst diplomatic crisis between the two regional powers since Israeli marines stormed an aid ship to enforce a naval blockade of Gaza in 2010, killing 10 Turkish activists and prompting a downgrade in diplomatic ties that lasted until 2016".

Erdogan regards himself as a champion of the Palestinian cause and previous year held a summit of Islamic countries to denounce US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Netanyahu responded and said: "Erdogan, [who is one of the only political leaders in the world that supports Hamas] obviously doesn't need a lesson from me in how to slaughter innocents and support terrorism". "Netanyahu has Palestinian blood on his hands and he is the Prime Minister of an Apartheid State", Erdogan said.

"We have made our view clear on the embassy", he told MPs.

"America says "I am strong and so I am right".
