Saudi airstrikes 'kill scores' at Yemeni wedding

Key Houthi official 'killed' in Yemen

Yemeni health officials say an airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition in the country's north hit a wedding party, killing at least 15 people the previous day.

Khaled al-Nadhri, the top wellness officer in the northern state of Hajja, told The Associated Press on Monday that almost all of the deceased have been women and children who were assembled in one of the tents setup for the wedding party while in the district Bani Qayis.

The number of victims of the crime by the US-Saudi aggression on wedding ceremony in Bani Qais district of northern Hajjah increased to 33 martyrs and 55 wounded, including women and children.

At least 46 people were wounded in the attack, 30 of them children, the official added.

The Saudi-led coalition which has been fighting Yemen's Houthi rebels said it was investigating the incident.

Thunder Drop Game 2 to Jazz in Playoff Series
Expect George, who had eight three-pointers in Game 1, to start and be available in full capacity Wednesday night. Important questions are surrounding Wednesday night's 2nd game between the Thunder and the Utah Jazz .

On Sunday, Yemeni medical sources said that jets belonging to the Saudi-led coalition carried out two raids on a wedding party in the province of Hajjah.

The coalition intervened in Yemen's civil war in 2015 against Houthi rebels who overthrew the internationally recognised government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Yemen has been embroiled in a conflict between the Saudi-backed government and the Iran-backed Houthis since late 2014.

Saudi Arabia and the US have so far managed to escape official blame for Yemen's humanitarian crisis by setting up a panel to investigate strikes that have killed civilians, which largely cleared the coalition of responsibility. In October 2016, 140 mourners were killed during an air strike on a house in Sanaa.

The coalition denied having any role in both instances.
