Russell Westbrook's teammates were definitely helping him get his triple-double record

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies - 4/11/18 NBA Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brian Davis said that Thunder star Russell Westbrook was "out of his cotton-picking mind" during the Thunder's 137-123 win against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

There was little doubt that Westbrook would gather those 16 rebounds in this game, given that the accomplishment earned him an MVP last season.

The Thunder went in to halftime with a 20-point lead, and Westbrook had already racked up 12 assists and 11 rebounds, and 1 point at the break. It ultimately sprung him to securing his second consecutive season averaging a triple-double for the entire year.

Westbrook entered the night needing 16 rebounds to clinch the triple-double average.

It was obvious that he wanted every board on Wednesday night. He scored but six points and still dominated.

This game meant a lot to the Thunder heading in, as Head Coach Billy Donovan's club needed to win to avoid falling to the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

The Thunder will play the lowly Memphis Grizzlies, who will be picking in the National Basketball Association lottery after the regular season and playoffs conclude. If the Jazz lose to the Portland Trail Blazers, the Thunder will have home-court advantage. George scored 26 points on 9-of-10 shooting, including 5 of 5 on three-pointers in the first half to help Oklahoma City score a season-high 77 points in the first half. Kobi Simmons added 15 points for Memphis, which held out Marc Gasol among other regulars.

Grizzlies end the year with a record of 22-60.

"I take pride in what I do". This is the third time they have lost 60 in Memphis.

Russell Westbrook made National Basketball Association history on Wednesday, becoming the first player to average a triple-double in multiple seasons. Now Westbrook has become the first player to do so since ... previous year.

Fans gasped when George missed a 3-point jumper in the third quarter, only his second miss on 13 attempts.

Watch Service' Paul George from beyond the arc or hurling a 3-pointer early in the shot clock in the general direction of the basket.
