Bruce McArthur expected to be charged with seventh murder today

Investigators haven't found any new remains but do have new information on what they've uncovered

Police have identified the remains of more men suspected to have been murdered by alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur as they expand their investigation more than four decades into the past.

Investigators have identified six sets of remains so far - 49-year-old Andrew Kinsman, 50-year-old Soroush Mahmudi, 40-year-old Skandaraj Navaratnam and now 44-year-old Esen, 42-year-old Faizi and 42-year-old Lisowick.

The news conference where Toronto Police will be giving out the details of the investigation has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Hours before that Bruce McArthur will be appearing in a Toronto court by video.

McArthur was arrested on January 18, one day after police uncover evidence that "pushed the case over the edge", allowing them to charge McArthur in the deaths of Kinsman and Esen while initiating a massive search of properties connected to McArthur.

Clad in an orange jumpsuit, McArthur spoke only once during the appearance to say his name. He also said police plan to investigate 75 properties linked to McArthur starting next month.

"As a result of tips and help from the public we hope to begin searches of properties associated to Mr. McArthur with our K9 unit", Idsinga said.

Police have since recovered the remains of seven people from planters found at a home in midtown Toronto where McArthur worked and stored equipment.

McArthur is also expected to appear in a Toronto courtroom today.

The man's nephew said Faizi visited Toronto's Gay Village but kept that a secret from family, according to CBC.

Andre Ingram calls 19-point Lakers debut 'once in a lifetime'
If not for a layup from fellow rookie Josh Hart with just 3:15 left in the game, Ingram would've led the Lakers in scoring. Ingram's dream night ended with a trip to the ESPN studio across the street from Staples Center for one more interview.

The latest charge has been laid in the death of Abdulbasir Faizi, a 42-year-old married father of two who vanished on December 29 2010.

The investigative team is now reviewing 15 homicide cold cases from 1975 to 1997, he said.

February 23, 2018 - Police lay a sixth charge of first-degree murder against McArthur, identify Navaratnam as one of the alleged victims whose remains were found in the planters.

The first police probe - named Project Houston - was launched in 2012 to investigate the disappearances of Faizi, Kayhan and Navaratnam.

McArthur is due back in court on April 25. McArthur was questioned around the time Toronto police launched Project Houston, sources have told the Star.

The city's police board has also approved an external review, requested by Mayor John Tory, that will look into how the force handled the cases of men missing from the gay village. Sgt. Hank Idsinga says releasing the image is a "last resort" to find the man's identity.
