How to Use Instagram's New Focus Portrait Mode

Instagram on Tuesday introduced a new Focus camera feature for both photos and video that takes clear pictures of people in the foreground while softly blurring the background.

When you open the Instagram camera, look for the Focus option next to the Superzoom feature.

The feature is available on iPhone SE, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+, X and select Android devices.

The new feature is located on top of the user profile.

With this Focus mode, users can take photos with blurred background.

To take those flawless "bokeh" photos, you just need to update your app via the iOS Store or the Play Store. The camera mode is called “Focus” and sits right next to “Superzoom”.

However, you will need to have certain devices for the feature to work.

Russian Federation says it will respond firmly to new United States sanctions
Some, but not all, of the individuals sanctioned will also be prohibited from entering the United States . In 2003, Shamalov married Putin's daughter.

Of course, if the user has no real idea how to use this feature as it was intended, it can create some rather very bad results. Now, however, as part of a completely new update, Instagram has announced the launch of a new camera mode, dubbed "Focus".

Photos with a bokeh effect (blurred backgrounds) become all the rage since Apple decided to make it "cool" with the introduction of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Similarly, the feature is an actual bokeh mode - which is a stark contrast to the variety of fake apps that simply mimic a portrait mode, oftentimes pretty poorly.

At this point, if Focus detects a face, you should see the background of the shot blur slightly.

In a similar vein to Snapchat's Snapcodes, Instagram is reportedly readying its Nametag feature that will allow users to follow friends by scanning tags with their smartphone camera.

In addition to Focus, Instagram is also rolling out a sticker for Mentions in its iOS app.
