Facebook-Apple Tussle Escalates As Zuckerberg Fires Back At Cook

Where do you stand in the Cook vs Zuck feud?

In this combo of file photos, Apple CEO Tim Cook speaks on the new Apple campus on September 12, 2017, in Cupertino, Calif.

Cook said Apple was better off for charging its customers and not selling them to advertisers, and he called privacy a human right.

Today the next shot was sacked in the war of words pitting Mark Zuckerberg vs Tim Cook. "And not at all aligned with the truth".

Facebook's CEO also talked of the difference between Apple's business model and that of his own company.

The argument here, essentially, is that Apple makes its money off the small fraction of people who can afford to pay sometimes-outlandish prices for technology, while Facebook makes money off large corporations while we regular folk get to use the service for free.

English Premier League: Mohamed Salah turns Liverpool's saviour
Liverpool have now won 679 top-flight away games - no side has ever won more (level with Arsenal). Hopefully, he is much, much better. "We see our chance but we know it will be unbelievably hard ".

"But if you want to build a service which is not just serving rich people, then you need to have something that people can afford".

This is the primary reason most of the media business is based on an ad-supported model, he said.

"You can imagine some sort of structure, nearly like a Supreme Court, that is made up of independent folks who don't work for Facebook, who ultimately make the final judgment call on what should be acceptable speech", he said. That needs to change, Zuckerberg said.

"I think it's really important that we don't get all Stockholm Syndrome and let companies that work hard to charge you more convince you that they actually care more about you", Zuckerberg told Vox. "We haven't done a good job of publishing and being transparent about the prevalence of those kinds of issues, and the work that we're doing and the trends of how we're driving those things down over time". Cook told Recodelast week that he would never be in the situation that Zuckerberg has found himself in, facing backlash for the massive Cambridge Analytica data breach. But in recent weeks, with Facebook embroiled in yet another scandal, Cook has upped the ante. Facebook doesn't have a great track record when it comes to handling user privacy or being transparent about it. During the 2016 San Bernardino shooting incident, the iPhone maker refused the FBI's request to unlock the shooter's phone.

"It's time that companies take steps to ensure that using their products doesn't mean that users have to sacrifice their rights".

The IT ministry while issuing a notice to social networking platform Facebook had asked companies response on issues like whether the personal data of Indian votes and users has been compromised by Cambridge Analytica or any other downstream entity in any manner.
