I believe Cambridge Analytica's client was Congress, says whistleblower

But election rigging was not particularly profitable, so, Wiley said, Cambridge Analytica made its real money by introducing top government officials to African businessmen in what he dubbed a "privatized colonizing operation".

"Christopher Wylie was a part-time contractor who left in July 2014 and has no direct knowledge of our work or practices since that date", Cambridge Analytica said, as Wylie gave testimony.

The company, as well as Facebook, are in the spotlight over alleged unauthorised access to personal data of the social media website's users.

Christopher Wylie told the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee that it was "completely reasonable" to say that there may have been a different outcome in the referendum had there not been what he dubbed "cheating".

During his testimony he built a picture of the work carried out by Cambridge Analytica, and AggregateIQ (AIQ), a Canadian-based company that had played a role in political processes across the world.

Wylie's testimony is the latest in a series of dramatic developments that brought together questions about Brexit, Cambridge Analytica, Facebook, and the election of US President Donald Trump.

Whistleblowers have said the main campaign for leaving the European Union broke the law on spending limits by spending money with another Brexit campaign group that it was closely affiliated with, a claim denied by senior Brexit campaigners.

Iowa family suffocated after inhaling toxic gasses, officials say
Quintana Roo's state attorney said the results mean any suggestion of foul play or suicide has been ruled out. Amy's cousin, Jana Weland, told ABC News that the vacation was a surprise for the children for Spring break.

Becerra said the review by states is needed. He also criticised Cambridge Analytica for running campaigns in "struggling democracies", which he called "an example of what modern-day colonialism looks like".

Aggregate IQ has said that it has "never knowingly been involved in any illegal activity".

Both the BJP and the Congress have accused each other of using the services of the data consultancy firm.

The offices of Cambridge Analytica (CA) in central London, March 20, 2018. "It's about the integrity of the democratic process", said Wylie, a former Cambridge Analytica employee, who earlier this month, revealed details of how the firm had inappropriately gathered Facebook data used to target voters in the United States, dating back to 2014, using an app developed by Cambridge psychologist Aleksandr Kogan.

Mr Wylie told the committee he "absolutely" believed that AIQ had drawn on CA databases in the referendum campaign, telling the committee: "You can't have targeting software that doesn't access the database".

"AggregateIQ works in full compliance within all legal and regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions where it operates", the company said in a statement. "I believe I have some documentation on India which I can also provide to the committee", Wylie informed the British Parliamentary Committee. During his evidence, Wylie also said that his predecessor, Dan Muresan, head of elections at SCL Group, had also been working in India before he died in Kenya under mysterious circumstances.

"When you look at the accumulation of evidence", he said, "I think it would be completely unreasonable to come to any other conclusion than this must be coordination, this must be a common objective plan".
