Riyad Mahrez admits he has regrets over how his failed move to Manchester City was handled but says he and Leicester City have moved on.

Algeria worldwide Mahrez was a January transfer target for City but the Premier League leaders were unwilling to meet Leicester's £95 million valuation. I have always been in contact with the club.

"Everyone to be honest has been very good and it's the past now".

"We always talk between me and the club. At the moment I'm a Leicester player", Mahrez told Sky Sports.

It was only a matter of time following his failed transfer to Manchester City that other clubs would come knocking again, and Corriere dello Sport firmly believe the Italians want him again.

"It was hard but I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone". It was a hard situation but we've moved on now - everyone, the club, the team, me.

Mahrez was absent from training during the final stages of the transfer window.

Aldon Smith arrested for domestic violence following his release from Oakland Raiders
On Monday, it was reported that there was a warrant out for Smith's arrest following an alleged domestic violence incident . Then yesterday, Smith's fiuancee told TMZ that Smith entered a rehab facility, after reaching out to her parents for help.

'You know in football, players come and players leave, ' said the 27-year-old.

The 27-year-old's contract with Leicester runs until 2020 and despite his obvious desire to part ways with the Premier League club the Foxes have already proved that they are unwilling to budge on their valuation of the Algerian worldwide.

He has scored nine goals and added seven assists in only 25 games, but recent reports indicated that he wanted to hang up his boots. I'm not saying I'm going to leave, I'm going to go.

"That is all I am focused on, so the transfer window, I don't want to talk about it".

Despite his assurances, Leicester fans will still fear the winger has his heart set on a move to the Etihad, especially as he admitted he wanted to join City in the summer. The club handled it very well.

Leicester ran a feature on Mahrez on their website on Wednesday looking at the impact of the player this season, suggesting the Facebook post was a hoax.

"Now I'm moving forward, trying to give my best for the team, and that's most important".
