Many Europe Airports Still Closed as Storm Rages

Flight cancellations are causing headaches for travelers across the northeast

Airport has announced it will remain closed for the rest of the day as the Beast from the East continues to batter the country.

Over in the Republic of Ireland, all flights at Cork and Kerry Airports have been cancelled, while a number of flights have also been slashed at Dublin.

The website claims to have "all the live, accurate flight information you need" from airports around the UK.

"All passengers should check with their airline before travelling to the airport".

However, the Irish airline has confirmed that inbound flights from the USA and Canada will depart as planned on Friday night, arriving into Irish airports on Saturday morning.

RYANAIR has taken the step of cancelling all its flights from airports in the United Kingdom including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds Bradford due to the snow.

Airlines suspended flight operations from between 3 and 4pm because of the impact of Storm Emma, with Aer Lingus and Ryanair both stating they would resume flights Saturday morning.

Several Aer Lingus regional flights scheduled for tomorrow between Cork and the United Kingdom have already been cancelled.

In the UK, London City airport has been badly hit with some flights diverted to London Gatwick, Southampton and Birmingham and a flight from Luxembourg returned to its departure airport. The weather in Scotland has been particularly harsh by United Kingdom standards.

"De-icing of aircraft and snow clearing is now taking place". Customers who are scheduled to travel through those airports through Friday can rebook through March 21, subject to availability.

Meanwhile, Dublin Bus says its operating a limited service and has warned passengers they face significant disruption.
