Kylie Jenner sends Snapchat stock falling with a single tweet

Snapchat Continues Ecommerce Experimentation — This Time With Nike For Air Jordan Drop

A billion Dollar dive in the value of Snapchat stock is being blamed on a single tweet from reality TV star Kylie Jenner.

Many urged the 20-year-old to take up the issue directly with company co-founder Evan Spiegel, who is married to model Miranda Kerr, but it appears the damage has already been done as stock market shares for Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc., plunged by 7.2% on Thursday.

Snapchat recently did a major overhaul to the app and the overall users have hated the new update.

The petition started circulating after some intriguing tweet ensured the users that if 50,000 people will sign "change.org petition", then Snapchat will have to bring back the old version of the app. Snapchat's response to the petition acknowledges upcoming changes that it hopes will make the design more user-friendly, while also defending some of the controversial changes...

Snapchat claimed that it rolled out the re-design in a bid to make the app easier to use and to implement a dedicated feed for news content.

However, her last tweet may have been her most prolific one yet.

She did give a heads up that she thought Snapchat was on its last legs in a tweet earlier this month which said: 'Mm just saw the new Snapchat...

Lauren Cohan joins 'Whiskey Cavalier' pilot at ABC, eyes 'Walking Dead' exit
It is understood that AMC offered Cohan a "modest" salary increase and a longer contract instead, which she rejected. Lauren Cohan's been a fixture on The Walking Dead since making her debut as Maggie during the show's second season.

Well, Snap has officially responded and it's pretty clear: the redesign is here to stay, regardless of what you have to say. But it also made clear that the recent update was "just the beginning, and we will always listen closely to find new ways to make the service better for everyone". Now, there's a designated page for publishers and celebrities, and a separate page for friends.

"For a very long time, we have been trying to clarify, or at least distinguish, the difference between friends and publishers", Spiegel said in November, according to the Guardian.

25-year-old boyfriend Travis, real name Jacques Webster, admitted their baby girl is "beautiful" in the first public comment ever made since her February 1 birth. It seems that the features introduced in the update only made the app more hard to use and some believe they may even defeat the objective of Snapchat altogether.

Snap made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange in March past year valued at $24bn - its shares soaring on the first day of trading.

Despite the criticism, Snapchat founder and chief executive Evan Spiegel, 27, is still set to pocket $AU811 million in stock grants after the company went public previous year.

Ives believes the update was necessary to expand Snapchat's user base.
