J&K hospital firing: Conspiracy to free LeT militant hatched four months ago

Though the government is claiming that situation in the state is better than the past decade the ground reality is different' opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said

Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday said it has cracked the case of the escape of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Naveed Jatt alias Abu Hanzalla from police custody at a Srinagar hospital on Tuesday, by arresting four people involved in it.

Police said there is a strong possibility that Naveed fled towards South Kashmir.

Pertinently, governmnet issued suspension order of Hilal Ahmed Rather who was earlier Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar after the escapade of LeT militant from SMHS Hospital in which two cops were killed in a shootout. He said on the orders of the court Naveed was transferred from Kathua Jail to Srinagar central jail.

Rehman disclosed that the service records of the medical staff posted at the jail were being examined by the administrative department in Jammu, and orders of their attachment and replacement were expected by Thursday evening or Friday. We are police officers, not terrorists.

Police today presented four persons, two terrorists and two over-ground workers (OGWs), before the media, who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy that led to Naveed Jutt's escape.

Last night, Hizbul Mujahideen operational commander Riyaz Naiko, in an audio message, said Naveed and the militant who rescued him had reached a safe destination.

White House says 'very comfortable' with economy despite market volatility
With a 1,175-point dive, the stock market on Monday delivered the largest single-day point drop in the market's history.

"From the hospital, Naveed was dropped on the other side of Abdullah bridge (Rajbagh) and kept at a place and taken to Kakapora in Pulwama district later in the day".

All the terror outfits in Kashmir were operating in unison and there is no difference among them, he said.

The outgoing police chief said Hilal and Tika used to frequently visit Central Jail, where Jatt was lodged, to meet him and Jatt was also in touch with them and others over the phone.

He said on February 6, these guys came to Srinagar and took position outside the hospital.

Khan said that the policemen refrained from opening fire in their defence as the cross-firing may have inflicted a heavy civilian casualty. If Naveed would have killed one or two people in his efforts to escape, it would be nothing for them. "We will get soon the hands and neutralise them, " he said.
