WBRL reports that Germaine Moore, 44, turned himself in to Millbrook police at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, shortly after Central Alabama CrimeStoppers announced warrants against him on Monday.

Social media users trying to help investigators have shared the video - which is not only a crime, but it's having the unintended effect of making the child a viral victim.

The suspect in a viral video showing a young girl forced to perform oral sex on an adult man is now in police custody. As the video quickly became viral, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and police agencies nationwide intervened and warned others to stop sharing it.

Investigators were able to identify Moore from the video after first identifying the little girl and questioning her. The girl in the video was identified and is now safe, the department said.

A man from Alabama was arrested in connection to a child pornography video that was posted on Facebook last week and went viral.

Law enforcement officials across the country are asking people to stop sharing a video on Facebook that depicts child pornography. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has accused Moore of sexually assaulting children at his mother's home in Detroit and at his home in Alabama while they were in his care between 2011 and 2017. The video circulated on Facebook and other social media.

Montgomery Police charged 42-year-old Jerrell Washington with distributing it, and warn that anyone who shares the video, even in outrage, can be charged as well.

A woman, Tonya Moore, was taken into custody Monday night in connection with the investigation. "We understand that sharing information sometimes brings a criminal to justice, but sharing amongst Facebook friends is not the way to do it". Authorities arrested her and charged her with hindering prosecution. "We urge people never to share such content and to report it to local authorities immediately". He is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility, under a $100,000 bond.
