Katherine Lockler, Nurse in Florida, Actually Bugged by Flu

"Please don't bring your healthy children - especially your newborn babies - into the emergency room", said Milton resident Katherine Lockler in the video, which has been shared nearly 11,000 times since Saturday. People aren't washing their "stinking hands", to borrow Lockler's turn of phrase, and they aren't use hand sanitizer stations that, if you've ever been to a hospital, you know are pretty much everywher.

When it comes to preventing the flu from spreading at home, Lockler has a pretty simple solution. Lockler said she trusts the post took off when a few people in her field of work shared the video.

"Some of them are not true emergencies but they're waiting along with the flu right next to them so guess what?" "Don't bring people with problems or kids because the flu affects them more aggressively".

"Watch this, I'm going to teach you a magic trick, it's fantastic", Katherine says.

"Here are some thoughts if you don't mind me sharing", she continues.

"I think there's a little bit of sarcasm in my voice because the instructions were given so many times and they were not received well", Lockler said.

Then Lockler dramatically fakes a sneeze into her arm. She says that not only exposed the other players, but everyone they come into contact with.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel: 'Tough to manage Riyad Mahrez situation'
Mahrez has over two years remaining on his contract at Leicester having signed a new long-term deal with the club in August 2016. Leicester ultimately asked for £80m cash for the Mahrez which the Premier League leaders were not willing to pay.

Locker who has worked as a nurse for 18 years told the Pensacola News Journal that she was pressed to upload the video after she saw the child crawling. "Also, on the off chance that you don't have what I call a true emergency, this would not be an opportunity to go to the emergency room".

"There is a cesspool of funky flu at the E.R. right now", she says, excoriating people to not come to the emergency room if they don't need to, especially to visit others.

Lockler, who works at multiple emergency rooms in the Northwest Florida area, said she sat down in her auto after a 12-hour shift at work on Saturday with the intent to send a message from a health care professional's perspective. She went on to apologize to anyone offended by her tone, but insists that regardless of how she may have come off the message is still "right on the money".

According to the CDC, healthy people should avoid contact with those who are sick while sick people should limit contact with those who are healthy. The CDC reports that we're in the middle of the worst flu season in nearly a decade, with widespread cases of the infection in every state save for Hawaii. Her rant has garnered over 5.2 million views since being posted last weekend.

"I just giggle", she said.

As flu season ramps up, a Florida nurse had a message for potential visitors to the emergency room: If it's not an emergency, don't show up. "We're putting ourselves in the thick of some nasty germs to help".
