Leicester City boss Claude Puel: 'Tough to manage Riyad Mahrez situation'

Riyad Mahrez will not feature for Leicester this weekend

"I hope for Riyad that he can clear his head and come back with us because he's a big player".

The Algeria global did not turn up to training on Thursday and Friday, after his proposed move to Manchester City did not materialise on Deadline Day.

Riyad Mahrez is stuck at Leicester City until the end of the season at least.

His goals and assists - mostly for pal Jamie Vardy - turned more than a few heads, with Mahrez constantly tipped with a move away ever since, namely to Arsenal. But Mahrez has seen Leicester sell N'Golo Kane and Danny Drinkwater to a Champions League club and apparently he believes Leicester promised him he could leave the club if they received a suitable offer for him.

The Citizens have moved on to strengthen their squad despite the heavy-spending summer and Pep Guardiola even wanted to boost his attacking options even further by launching a late attack on Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has been speaking about Riyad Mahrez's future after he went on strike after a failed Man City move on deadline day. After the transfer window, it is a tough decision for us to manage now.

'All of this is a situation we need to manage but all of the details will stay inside the club.

Kenyan authorities target media as counter 'inauguration' proceeds
Police at first had vowed to block opposition supporters from attending Tuesday's ceremony, leading to fears of violence. Odinga took his oath to the deafening cheers of supporters before speaking briefly and swiftly departing.

"He is crucial in our play and with his place in this squad and with his team-mates and it is important that we stay united".

Mahrez has over two years remaining on his contract at Leicester having signed a new long-term deal with the club in August 2016. We need to move forward and focus on football.

Both club and the player should adopt a more professional approach towards finding the solution and realise they both hold equal blame in this situation.

Leicester ultimately asked for £80m cash for the Mahrez which the Premier League leaders were not willing to pay.

Swansea will arrive at the King Power Stadium in confident mood, and against a Leicester team likely to be without Mahrez again I'm happy to get the Welsh outfit on my side.

The Foxes will hope to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat by Everton earlier this week.
