DOJ Seeks to BLOCK CONGRESS from Releasing FISA Bombshell — RELEASE THE MEMO

Rep. Devin Nunes R-Calif. on Tuesday Dec. 5 2017. Bill Clark CQ Roll Call via ZUMA Press

Republicans on the committee have questioned how central the dossier was to the FISA application and whether US officials vetted the report before using it to obtain the surveillance warrant.

The House Intelligence Committee later of Simpson's testimony as well. "So it's not like there's new information", Gowdy said.

"I think given the seriousness of this one and the players, that this should go to the President first", said Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican in charge of the Intelligence Committee's Russian Federation investigation.

She said the department has not seen evidence of wrongdoing, while acknowledging that lawmakers appear disturbed by what they've seen of the memo. "That was 18 minutes; this was five months". Democrats say Republicans are trying to distract from the Russian Federation probe.

Even Fox News anchor Shepard Smith charged that Republicans in Congress and some at talking heads his network for hyping demands to release the memo, calling it a "weapon of mass distraction" on his show Thursday. "The fact that they have provided the rest of them certainly doesn't show an intent to try to withhold anything. That's why we believe this is the framework to get things moving". Mark Warner: "At this point I accept the FBI's word".

Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee chair, also refused to give Republican Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr's staff access to the memo.

In the letter, Sens. Inspector General Michael Horowitz has granted the Justice Department permission to share the formerly missing text messages with congressional committees.

Republican lawmakers have said texts that the Justice Department gave to Congress last week, supplementing another set that lawmakers received previous year, show pervasive political bias against Trump.

MSU's Lou Anna Simon resigns over Nassar scandal
He later walked that back, Skubick said, to say they needed to be evaluated on how they handle decisions after Simon's leaving. Simon and her administration had successfully tamped down indignation over MSU's role in the Larry Nassar sex-abuse scandal.

GREENE: OK. So Republicans have been pushing this memo at a time when the special counsel's investigation is going forward.

Clawson argues it makes no sense that such an entrenched anti-Trump conspiracy could have been so careless with their communications.

"First they waged an aggressive and coordinated - and I would say shameful - attack on the integrity of the Special Counsel", Schumer said. Nunes said, "From everything that I can see, his conversations with the Russian ambassador-he was doing this country a favor, and he should be thanked for it".

GREENE: I'm just thinking - worse than Watergate. The White House debated to CNN that the President has reached upon a decision.

Yet other than in stories of the recent "Secret Society" revelation, Strzok mistress Page has absolutely no presence to speak of on the Internet. Strzok replies. "An investigation leading to impeachment?" "Now i [sic] need to fix it and finish it", MYE is an apparent reference to "Midyear Exam" - the FBI's internal case name for the Clinton investigation. He should have led the effort to protect national security. "Meanwhile, we have our task ahead of us". Burr said he would not discuss "anything that goes on with what we did or didn't ask for, what we did or didn't get, what we did or didn't conclude". Multiple officials briefed on the text messages have confirmed to CNN that the pair was having an affair, helping to explain the large volume of the exchanges.

The undercover sabotage and Federal Bureau of Investigation gamesmanship during 2016's presidential campaign runs much deeper than the "Secret Society" that threw in with the Clinton campaign to fund a discredited dirty dossier used to justify the FISA warrants allowing the Obama administration to spy on the Trump campaign-right from the White House.

Others issues thought to be contained in the memo, which thus far has only been viewed by House members, involve the so-called 'Steele dossier, ' a controversial document prepared by former MI6 spy Christopher Steele that made a series of unverified claims against Donald Trump. Everybody knows he will do anything to defend Trump. And what are they saying about it?
