Trump weighs path to citizenship for young migrants

The White House was a hotbed for reporters on Monday with many asking whether Trump would back a DACA bill that included other immigration pot-sweeteners

With the USA now on day three of a federal shutdown, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders disputed any notion that President Donald Trump is not being clear about what he wants in any deal to reopen the government.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday the immigration reform bill presented by Sens. Their plan would offer DACA recipients a three-year renewal of legal status, allowing them to continue to live and work in the country with no special path to citizenship.

The White House will release the legislative framework on Monday.

Trump himself has vacillated on immigration between tough rhetoric demanding a US border wall and a softer tone urging a "bill of love" for Dreamers.

Schumer was referring to an offer he made Trump last week to authorize upward of $20 billion for a border wall, a signature campaign pledge for the President, in exchange for protecting recipients of DACA, young undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children.

His administration also intends to lawmakers to include $25 billion for his proposed southern border wall in any immigration bill they send him, along with another $5 billion for border security, Trump told a small group of reporters at the White House.

Sanders raised her voice in disbelief, asking if the reporter was implying that Trump was "complicit" in the school shooting.

White House Slams Graham
The White House said Sunday that it's Graham, not Miller, who is operating outside America's mainstream. Miller is an immigration hardliner and has a track record of working against immigration compromises.

"It addresses the four principles that we've talked about all along", Sanders said.

Sanders also wouldn't address how similar the immigration plan will be to what Sens.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Mueller is looking to interview Trump about his dismissals of former FBI Director James Comey and his former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Members of both parties have criticized the use of continuing resolutions, which provide little long-term certainty for federal agencies. "And perhaps a bill that I vote on to start the process in the House is not one I vote for in final passage, but it's the way that it's supposed to work". "This will greatly help the Senate efforts to craft a proposal which President Trump can sign into law".

"Frankly, this administration, we have said it time and time before, there was no collusion", Sanders said.

The failure to reach an immigration deal earlier this month was the driving force behind the recent, brief federal government shutdown.
