Rafael Nadal rallies into last eight past Diego Schwartzman

Switzerland's Roger Federer hits a return during their men's singles third round match against France's Richard Gasquet on day six of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne

Nadal had barely broken sweat despite the blistering heat in Melbourne, which broke for the weekend and made his afternoon session altogether more bearable for players and fans alike.

Diego Schwartzman's hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian Open were ended on Sunday morning after he was beaten by Rafael Nadal.

Over three hours into the match, Nadal saved five break points just to get to one-all.

Another fourth-round match has fourth-seeded Elina Svitolina playing Denisa Allertova, a Czech qualifier who has not dropped a set in any of her main-draw matches.

Cilic racked up his 100th grand slam match win on Sunday, but it's a second major title that he's really hunting.

The quarter-final match will be played on Tuesday, January 23rd at 01:00 Croatia time, 11:00 Melbourne time.

Cilic blew one of them by spraying a crosscourt shot wide but made no mistake on the second, hammering a huge first serve down the "T" and picking off the return with a straightforward forehand victor, bringing raucous cheers from the large Croatian contingent in the terraces. It was a lot of hours on court.

"Pablo came back and really gave me a lot of trouble. Let's see how far I can go".

Fourth-seeded Svitolina next plays Hobart International victor Elise Mertens, who beat Petra Martic to reach the quarterfinals in her Australian Open debut.

Martic took a medical timeout to receive treatment from a trainer for a hip or upper thigh complaint after the fifth game of the second set.

Facebook Users Will Be Able To Rank News Source Trustworthiness
That does raise some questions, but we guess we'll have to wait and see if Facebook's latest approach will be one that works. Zuckerberg said Friday because of that, news posts will make up 4 percent of the news feed, down from 5 percent today.

The 16-time Grand Slam champion started out with a steely determination that was apparent up until the end of the first set.

In women's fourth-round matches, second-seeded Caroline Wozniacki plays Magdalena Rybarikova.

At a set and a break up, with Kyrgios ranting at his support camp about the tension of his strings and threatening to implode, Dimitrov appeared in total control of the match.

Such was Wozniacki's confidence she even produced a between the legs "tweener" during the first set and although it did not win her the point it summed up her mood.

"I think you can tell my confidence is pretty good at the moment".

"I've tried a few in practice but usually make a fool out of myself". Danish tennis player will face Carla Suarez-Navaroni from Spain.

Things proceeded on-serve in the third until game four where Nadal claimed his opponents serve to lead 3-1 and never looked back claiming the set 6-3.

The second set was scruffy, as both players failed to assert themselves while serving, and three breaks each resulted in a second-set tiebreak.

Schwartzman dug deep to save two match points on his serve, conjuring some brilliant winners in the process.
