Facebook to expand probe into possible Russian influence on Brexit vote

Facebook has said it will conduct a wider investigation into whether there was Russian meddling on its platform relating to the 2016 Brexit referendum vote in the UK.

"We have considered your request and can confirm that our investigatory team is now looking to see if we can identify other similar clusters engaged in coordinated activity around the Brexit referendum that was not identified previously", Mr. Milner wrote.

The Russian Embassy to the United Kingdom quoted Albert Einstein to mock social media giant Facebook, and their re-investigation into whether Russia used their site to spread fake news during the Brexit referendum. Many have urged more disclosure by Facebook, Twitter and other companies, which possess internal information about users and payments.

Damian Collins, a member of Parliament and the committee chair, criticised the investigation, saying it didn't answer questions he had put to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last October regarding the activity of Russia-linked accounts.

Facebook has promised to further investigate whether Russian Federation interfered in the Brexit referendum, Damian Collins, chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee in the House of Commons, said Wednesday.

England set new ODI batting bar - Smith
This was England's 35th win in 53 ODIs under Bayliss, who has lost 18 of his 38 Tests in charge. More importantly, the wickets that we've played on, we've adapted to them.

Responding to growing pressure in Europe, Facebook is opening a new probe into Russian interference in Britain's 2016 referendum to leave the European Union.

"It is right that companies like Facebook should initiate their own research into issues like this where there is such clear public concern, and not just act on intelligence that has been passed to them", Collins said in a statement.

Facebook's new search in Britain will require the company's security experts to go back and analyze historical data. If the company finds evidence of other troll farms, it may prompt USA lawmakers to reopen their investigations.

In its Brexit report, Facebook also only looked at known Russian trollfarm the Internet Research Agency pages or account profiles - which it had previously identified in its U.S. election disinformation probe.
