North Korea vows to bolster its nuclear capability

The North Korean leader said the United States should be aware that his country's nuclear forces were now a reality not a threat, and North Korea achieved the historic feat of "completing" its nuclear forces.

North Korea will remain committed to the country's nuclear development in 2018, according to a report released on Saturday by state-run news agency KCNA.

North Korea conducted its most powerful nuclear test to date in September and launched three different intercontinental ballistic missiles into the sea in July and November.

"We have secured powerful deterrence against the nuclear threat from the U.S.", he added. The U.S. and South Korea have maintained that they won't negotiate with the North unless it is willing to discuss curbing its nuclear weapons and missile program.

Fiesta Bowl nostalgia? Not for Penn State and Washington
Washington , meanwhile, hardly got on track as Penn State's defensive line swarmed quarterback Jake Browning early and often. The redshirt junior finishes the year with 3,570 passing yards and a 28/10 TD/INT ratio across 13 games played.

The North Korean nuclear threat will likely overshadow Trump's trip to Asia, which starts Sunday in Japan and will include stops in South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

But Mullen also said that Trump has disrupted long-held views of the USA role in the world, and that America's enemies benefit from that uncertainty.

"The DPRK, an undeniable new strategic state and nuclear power of Juche, declares: Do not expect any change in its policy". That has angered North Korea, whose foreign minister said in September the North had "every right" to take countermeasures, including shooting down the US warplanes, though many experts doubt it has the actual intent or ability to do so.

The United Nations Security Council voted unanimously earlier this month to impose new sanctions on North Korea aimed at strangling the country's already isolated economy.
