LB Harrison signs with Patriots

James Harrison painted as a bad teammate who forced his way out of Pittsburgh

When James Harrison was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday to make room for suspended right tackle Marcus Gilbert, fans in the Steel City were up in arms. Harrison remains Pittsburgh's all-time leader with 80.5 career sacks. Heck, the Chiefs might not even be the team the Patriots face; they might not even see the Steelers, robbing him of a chance to show his former team for most of the past 15 years that they made a mistake in releasing him. "We needed the people we kept".

Harrison, a five-time Pro Bowler, signed a two-year deal with the Steelers before the 2017 season, but he played just 40 snaps in five games, tallying just one sack and three tackles.

Mike Tomlin isn't sure how long of a break he wants to give his star players before the postseason begins.

At an event in Missouri last month he told supporters, "You don't see "Merry Christmas" any more ". It also shows what appears to be a red splattered-stain of CNN's logo on the bottom of Mr.

Harrison's playing time dipped significantly this season. He was active in just five games despite being injury-free and with the Steelers turning more toward outside linebackers Bud Dupree and rookie T.J. Watt. Pittsburgh, though, realised Harrison could be scooped up by New England, Tennessee or Baltimore.

The Steelers and Patriots each secured a bye through to the divisional round, though New England can clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with a win over the Jets in their regular-season finale on Sunday.

The New England Patriots have won their fourth Super Bowl in the Brady/Belichick Era by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona.
