KL Rahul dropped from India's squad for South Africa ODI series

Disciplined India restrict Sri Lanka to 135-7 in third T20

Kohli who has enjoyed enough rest and has had a leisurely time since his wedding, is now all set to return as the Captain in the limited overs fixtures. Rohit Sharma led the cavalry and won his maiden ODI series as skipper and will aim to clean sweep the T20I series as well.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the pace attack along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Thakur.

The two seasoned spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, were once again ignored as the selectors chose to persist with the wrist-spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal along with left-arm orthodox Akshar Patel.

Shreyas Iyer's inclusion comes as no surprise after his smashing performances in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Google Chrome browser will start blocking ads come February 2018
The problem with ad blockers is that they block all ads indiscriminately and this hurts legitimate publishers. We look forward to continuing to work with industry bodies to improve the user experience for everyone.

After the three-match Test series, the two teams face-off in the six-match ODI series, starting February 1 in Durban.

Keshar Jadhav who was ruled out from the ODI series against Sri Lanka has been recalled too. There was also no place for uncapped paceman Siddharth Kaul and teenage all-rounder Washington Sundar.

The spinners include the usual lot of Chahal, Yadav and Axar Patel. In spite of doing well in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, KL Rahul doesn't find a place in the 17-member squad. On the tour of South Africa, India will play a total of 6 ODIs, which will be held from February 1 to 16.

Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik continue to form a top and middle-order.
