Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to feeling frustrated his side did not score more goals in their 3-0 win at Turf Moor against Burnley on Saturday evening.

- Kane's third goal against Burnley was his 46th club strike in all competitions in 2017; only Edinson Cavani and Lionel Messi (50 each) have more among players in the big five European leagues.

Kane has also equalled Shearer's 1995 record for the most Premier League hat-tricks in a single calendar year, notching his fifth against Burnley.

"I came into this game hoping I could get a couple and take it to Southampton, when I had the three I wanted to get the fourth".

Pochettino said Kane's tally was just reward for the effort he has put into his game. "Let's see what happens on Boxing Day". Tough game, we knew it'd be tough.

In the other Premier League games, Brighton pipped Watford 1-0, Southampton drew 1-1 with Huddersfield, Stoke City defeated West Brom 3-1, Swansea City drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace, while West Ham lost 2-3 to Newcastle.

Speaking to BT Sport after the victory at Turf Moor, the England global said: "I am aware I've equalled Alan Shearer's record".

"During my three and a half years with Tottenham, he always surprises me - not only with goals but his contribution, with his attitude, professional ethic, how he works across the pitch, he is a massive example for everyone", he said.

Kane's first goal came from the penalty spot after a controversial decision to give a foul on Dele Alli when there was only minimal contact. "We need to help him more". They are a top-class side and I think they did the basics well, they showed us a lot of respect doing that.
