Yemen's Saleh Lost His Life over Anti-Iran Stance

Yemeni women protest for body of slain leader Saleh

The leader of Yemeni forces loyal to Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed, as Houthi rebels led a charge against associates of the murdered former president.

Skau stressed that military "logic" must not take over so the parties can get back to the negotiating table.

"I am going to fight the enemies of the humanity and the enemies of our homeland who are trying hard to erase its identity and destroy its gains and humiliate the Yemenis", said Major General Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, Yemen's ambassador to the UAE and the former commander of the Republican Guard. He added that government forces would support an "uprising" against the Houthis in Sanaa.

The analyst also warned that if Arabs do not unite, it will not be unusual to soon witness the effects of Iranian intervention, such as the emerging of sectarian conflicts, ethnic wars, and total destruction in other Arab countries.

Houthi rebels in Yemen have held dozens of journalists captive for days at a television station in the capital and a media watchdog has demanded their immediate release.

RSF's sources said the journalists were forced to surrender the TV channel's access codes, enabling the Houthis to broadcast their own content.

A top United Nations humanitarian aid official says Yemen's capital came under at least 25 airstrikes overnight, although fighting has now subsided after a five-day wave of deadly violence.

"They obviously care about US support", Corker said. McGoldrick spoke to reporters in Geneva by phone on Tuesday from the Yemeni capital.

This weekend: Supermoon. Coming soon: Blue moon
If you miss the first viewing, another good time to sneak a peek is when the supermoon reaches its peak at 4 a.m. on December 4. Even more so if it's a supermoon. "Don't be so focused on your sensor that you miss such an otherworldly sight", they said.

The International Committee of the Red Cross said Monday that at least 125 people had been killed and some 240 wounded in Sanaa since the fighting began last week.

Witnesses said the protest lasted less than an hour before rebel forces violently dispersed it with batons.

It's not clear how many civilians are among the dead.

Without mentioning Saleh by name, he said that he knew about Saleh's communication with the coalition and his efforts to turn against the Houthis.

Steve Purbrick, MSF's coordinator in Hajja, described the attack as a "deliberate disregard for medical facilities" that endangered the lives of patients and medical staff, and compromised "the care MSF can provide in the midst of intense fighting".

He said the fate of Abull Aziz Bin Habtoor, senior GPC member and prime minister of the Saleh-Houthi alliance's self-declared government, was unknown but that reports suggested the rebels had arrested him.

A video circulating online on Monday showed Saleh's body with a gaping head wound dumped in a pickup truck by rebels — a grisly end recalling that of longtime strongman Saleh's contemporary, Libya's Moammar Gadhafi, in 2011.
