Mueller Subpoenas Trump's Financial Records From A German Bank

Former FBI Director Robert Mueller special counsel on the Russian investigation leaves following a meeting with members of the US Senate Judiciary Committee at the US Capitol in Washington DC

Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation has spent $3.2 million during the first four months of his investigation, including $1.7 million on salaries and benefits for attorneys and other Justice Department employees detailed to the team.

Sekulow told CBS News' Major Garrett that Trump's legal team confirmed with sources at Deutsche Bank that the reports indicating Mueller's team requested Trump's bank records were false.

But that report, based on a single anonymous source, was called into question nearly immediately by a Fox News report quoting another anonymous source near Mueller, who said there was no subpoena from Mueller's office to Deutsche Bank.

A lawyer for President Donald Trump says it's not true that special counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed financial records relating to the president.

Mueller is investigating alleged Russian attempts to influence the 2016 USA presidential election and potential collusion by Trump aides.

An internal investigation carried out by Deutsche Bank didn't yield any evidence of connections between the client relationship with Trump and the bank's mirror trades affair, a person briefed on the matter said. It was the first time Mr. Trump had said anything other than Mr. Flynn was sacked for lying to Mr. Pence.

'Icarus' Filmmakers "Applaud" IOC's Decision To Bar Russia From 2018 Olympic Games
The IOC also imposed lifetime Olympic ban on Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko, organizer of soccer's 2018 World Cup. However, they will allow athletes to compete in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang after approval by an IOC panel.

"I think that's a violation", Mr. Trump told the paper.

Deutsche Bank has been one of the few major banks willing to regularly lend to Trump, who alienated large banks in NY with his past financial troubles.

The bank rejected demands in June by US House Democrats to provide details of Mr Trump's finances, citing privacy laws. That figure includes a $170-million loan Trump took out to finish a hotel in Washington.

On Friday Mueller charged Trump's former national security advisor Michael Flynn with lying to investigators about his contacts with Russian officials.

In January, Deutsche Bank agreed to pay US$630 million in fines for organising US$10 billion in sham trades that could have been used to launder money out of Russian Federation. In particular, Trump hailed the news that one of Mueller's aides had been removed from his job over the summer for some anti-Trump text messages.

A bank spokesman said Tuesday that Deutsche Bank had no comment on the Handelsblatt report.
