Everton Set to Appoint Sam Allardyce

Current interim manager David Unsworth will resume his role as Everton's under-23 coach.

Allardyce was due to attend the club's USM Finch Farm training complex this afternoon in order to complete the formalities of a deal that is reported to be worth £9m over 18 months.

The Goodison club has now confirmed on their official Twitter account that the ex-England boss is on the verge of being appointed as manager but David Unsworth will remain in charge against the Hammers on Wednesday.

With Unsworth overseeing his final match at home to West Ham tonight, Allardyce's first game in charge will be against Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park this Saturday.

At the time, Everton were chucking increasingly silly amounts of money at Watford in the vain hope of luring Marco Silva to Merseyside, with Allardyce withdrawing his application after tiring of the dilly-dallying.

Analysis of the 2017 Hurricane Season
Hurricane Nate made landfall along the Gulf Coast , causing damage to Biloxi and parts of Mobile, Alabama. Hurricane Maria made landfall in the Caribbean as a category five storm before annihilating Puerto Rico.

Poor old Everton. They sit in 16th place after a bad start to the season but supporters will be hoping serial Premier League survivalist Sam Allardyce can turn things around.

Former England boss Sam Allardyce is being strongly linked with the vacancy and talks are said to be taking place between the club and his representatives.

Allardyce has been out of work since resigning as Crystal Palace managerin May.

The club's prospects had appeared so different at the beginning of the season with Everton having invested heavily following last season's impressive seventh-place finish.

The Toffees spent more than £130m on new players in the summer but have struggled without last season's top scorer Romelu Lukaku, who was sold to Manchester United for £75m in July.
