Chiefs sign Darrelle Revis

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis

Looking to clear up issues on the defensive end, the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) announced on Wednesday that the team has signed veteran cornerback Darrelle Revis.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that the deal is for two years, with Revis to receive the league minimum in 2017 and no guaranteed money in 2018. He excelled with the New York Jets under defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, who holds the same position now with the Chiefs. "He's a team guy, and we feel like a player of his caliber can help our football team".

Trump declares North Korea a state sponsor of terrorism
Neither Trump nor the State Department specified Monday which acts of terrorism and assassination the North had supported. It requested a determination as to whether such acts constitute support for worldwide terrorism.

The Chiefs, who have lost four of their last five games, have struggled mightily against the pass this season, allowing 253.8 yards per game (ranked 28th in the league). "He's had a Hall-of-Fame career and his leadership and playing experience will be valuable to our defense". Revis could play for the Chiefs on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Coach Andy Reid said.

It's not clear whether Revis will play cornerback or safety in Kansas City. The 32-year-old also collected 483 tackles, two sacks, six forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries in 140 games (all starts). He said he envisions Revis as a starter when he does get up to full speed and the Chiefs are hopeful that his full speed is close enough to his best days that their defense takes a step forward for the stretch run. Instead of recycling the same guys, the team finally decided to make a move by signing Darrelle Revis.
