Trump to LaVar Ball: 'I should have left them in jail!'

U.S. President Donald Trump speaks about his recent trip to Asia in the Diplomatic Room of the White House in Washington U.S. November 15

"I should have left them in jail!" he added.

The players, Cody Riley, Jalen Hill, and LiAngelo Ball - the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball - were arrested by Chinese police and put under house arrest after being accused of shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store in Hangzhou two weeks ago.

President Trump said he raised the players' case with China President Xi Jinping while on his Asian tour earlier this month.

Of all the things LaVar Ball could have said about President Trump, "Who?" was probably the worst.

Trump tweeted: "Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump?". Like I told him, 'They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.' I'm from L.A.

But Ball's father LaVar Ball, a brash media personality known for outspoken advocacy of his three basketball playing sons, minimized the president's role in an interview Friday with sports network ESPN. While the rest of the team returned to the United States, Chinese authorities detained the three players. Trump said in a tweet.

Salvation Army kettle campaign ready to begin
"People are working but they just aren't making enough to pay for the needs for their family". Small business can put small kettles near their counters to collect donations if they want to.

Trump, shockingly, was aggrieved that he wasn't getting more appreciation for helping facilitate their release from the country (aka doing his job).

LiAngelo Ball was arrested in China and charged with shoplifting along with two of his UCLA teammates just days before the Bruins were scheduled to play Georgia Tech.

All three UCLA players have been indefinitely suspended from the team, coach Steve Alford said.

Fredricka Whitfield spoke with Stelter this afternoon on how "the way this President prioritizes is very confusing to a lot of people".

Although LiAngelo Ball publicly expressed nothing but gratitude for Trump's intercession, his father, LaVar Ball, spurned Trump.

"I'm from LA. I've seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses". Sunday's tweet from the president of the United States calling out Lavar Ball by name somehow seemed like a foregone conclusion.
