Trump tweets against Al Franken: 'Where do his hands go?'

Senator Al Franken is facing an ethics investigation after apologizing for sexually inappropriate behavior with a radio host

They also serve a distinct political goal: expanding the focus from alleged sexual actions by a Republican candidate to Democrats as well, effectively making the topic of sexual harassment a bipartisan liability.

What do you think of Trump's eagerness in bashing Franken for his sexual indiscretions when there is evidence of the president's own improprieties with women?

Trump went on television and flatly read an apology for his words, then zealously shifted into offense.

During the presidential campaign, Trump was accused by more than a dozen women of sexual harassment, many instances of which involved unwanted physical contact. The first accusations of misconduct against him - namely, allegedly making sexual advances on a 14-year-old when he was 32 - were reported by the Washington Post on November 9. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said a couple of weeks ago that those accusers were lying, but Trump faces a defamation lawsuit from one of the women, Summer Zervos, for making just that claim. Al Franken (D-MN) on Twitter Thursday night over allegations that Franken groped an Los Angeles radio host in 2006, slamming a picture of the act as "really bad" - despite the many allegations of harassment and assault against Trump himself.

"To those who were digging my political grave so that they could jump into my seat, I know who you are and I won't forget you", Menendez said outside the Newark courthouse.

"The president made a statement when he was in Asia, and he's been very busy here working on explaining to the country exactly what happened in his Asia trip", Conway said on Fox and Friends.

"I think that what we've said is that Roy Moore's, so far, explanations have not been satisfactory", Short said, before returning to his previous point: "But at the same time, Dana, what we expect is what we have said: We campaigned against him".

Trump tweets against Al Franken: 'Where do his hands go?'

In Franken, "the president basically had a free shot on goal" to "remind people that Democrats have some serious problems on their end", the ally said.

Trump also accused Franken of hypocrisy, saying "just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women".

Senator Al Franken is the latest public figure accused of sexual misconduct. Trump tweeted, misspelling Frankenstein.

Multiple women have accused Moore of sexual misconduct in recent weeks, including one woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 16 and another who said Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he was 32.

The reference to Stahl, a CBS News journalist, is apparently a reference to a 1995 interview where Franken, then a cast member of Saturday Night Live, spoke about a skit in which she would have been drugged and raped. The reference was included in a 1995 NY magazine article.

Sanders did say, however, that a Senate investigation into the allegations against Franken were an "appropriate action". Even though a number of Republicans on Capitol Hill have called for Moore to step aside, the president has said little himself.

Privately some Republicans admit the race may now be lost, with the Republican vote split between Moore's die-hard supporters and so-called "write-in" candidates who are not on the ballot.
