FBI Launches Probe Into Meek Mill Judge

Rick Ross

The Philadelphia Eagles' Malcolm Jenkins and Philadelphia 76ers' legend Julius Erving are among those expected to attend. Meek Mill is a victim of this systemic oppression.

Mill was sentenced last week to two-to-four years behind bars for probation violations on drug and weapons charges.

Apparently, Judge Brinkley is being probed over possible relationships in Philadelphia, including to a music mogul named Charlie Mack, who Meek Mill worked with early in his career.

Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, who has presided over prosecutions of Mill for almost a decade, ignored recommendations from the prosecutor to not imprison him, The Associated Press reports. This criminal (in) justice system, ripe with racial discrimination, stigmatizes, profiles, and targets young Black men for arrest at a young age, having its roots in their hyper-policed neighborhoods that they are raised in, and sadly extending into what should be a safe space-the classroom, via the school to prison pipeline.

More reports continue to surface from the behind the scenes happenings surrounding Meek Mills recent prison sentencing.

The sentence has led to public outrage, and numerous petitions asking for PA Governor Tom Wolf to reevaluate the rapper's sentence. As of Tuesday morning, the petition had more than 350,000 signatures. Tacopina also said the judge was deeply disappointed that Meek Mill would turn down such a request from the judge when he is at the mercy of that same judge.

Meek's lawyers claim Judge Genece Brinkley has a personal vendetta against Meek, in particular for not leaving his music team at Roc Nation for another music producer.

Joe Tacopina, another lawyer representing the "Wins and Losses" rapper, told Billboard the judge was "enamored" with Mill and showed up at his community service, something rarely done by judges.
