Four People Killed in Northern California Shooting

A shooting spanning multiple locations in Northern California has left four people dead.

Jeanine Quist, an administrative assistant with the Corning Union Elementary School District, says no one was killed at the school but a "number" of students were shot and wounded.

Johnston said officials did not have an accurate count of the total number of people injured in the shooting that unfolded across at least seven locations.

The shooter had a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns.

Tehama County Undersheriff Phil Johnston said the victim toll may rise.

Brian Flint told local media his neighbor was the shooter, and that the neighbor had stolen his truck.

He said the gunman was a neighbor and had "been shooting a lot of bullets lately, hundreds of rounds, large magazines".

Three people were being treated at a hospital in Redding, about 50 miles north of the shootings, Mercy Medical Center spokeswoman Marcy Miracle said.

Terrorist? Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman arrested in Mall of America stabbing
Police have named the man accused of stabbing two people inside the Mall of America during a botched theft attempt Sunday. The others in their party disarmed Abdirahaman and restrained him until police arrived a few minutes later.

Around 100 law enforcement personnel are now present at five crime scenes in the area.

The shooter reportedly wounded kids at the school.

"We made it aware that this guy is insane and he's been threatening us", he said.

Several children have been transported to the hospital. The gunman was shot and killed by police, according to reporters on the scene. "That evolved into multiple victims and multiple shots at the school", the deputy said.

The FBI has confirmed it will assist in the investigation.

The shooting began at a home near the elementary school.

A neighbor of the shooter spoke with the media and said that the suspect was acting "crazy", and that the suspect threatened him and his roommate before stealing his truck.
