Jammu And Kashmir: Jawan Martyred, Civilian Injured in Pulwama Encounter; Operation Underway

An Army jawan was martyred and three terrorists killed in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. According to officials government forces this evening cordoned off Kandi Aglar area of Pulwama district after acting on a specific input about the presence of militants. He identified the victim as Sham Sundar, who had sustained bullet injuries during initial exchange of fire with militants and was referred to Army hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The J&K police in a tweet late Monday night said that the militants were involved in the sneak attack carried out by them at a naka police party in Pulwama's Rajpora area on Sunday. The security forces also gunned down three terrorists in the operation.
