Interview: Discussing Ezekiel Elliott's Latest Status With "Mighty"

NEW ORLEANS LA – OCTOBER 29 Jordan Howard

While Ezekiel Elliott continues to insist that he is fighting for his name, his attorneys have attempted to settle his case with the National Football League and have the Dallas Cowboys running back's six-game suspension reduced, a source close to the situation told ESPN.

After the National Football League said Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's appeal had no chance of success, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City issued a one-page order Friday temporarily blocking a lower-court ruling that shot down his previous appeals. He returned to practice the same day and played against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Elliott's playing status is up in the air for the second-straight week.

Elliott received a six-game suspension on August 11 for a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy related to domestic violence allegations by a former girlfriend.

No prison time for USA soldier Bergdahl in desertion case
Bergdahl "is grateful to everyone who searched for him in 2009, especially those who heroically sustained injuries", Fidell added. Bergdahl admitted his guilt without assurances from the prosecution about his sentencing, hoping for leniency before the judge.

If the judges were to make a decision by Friday in which Elliott did not gain a preliminary injunction, then the suspension would start immediately and he would not play this week against the Atlanta Falcons. Elliott, who was not arrested or charged in the case, maintains his innocence after being accused of assaulting his former girlfriend in Columbus, Ohio. ESPN reported earlier Sunday that Elliott's outside attorneys have attempted to reach a settlement with the NFL.

It's was the continuation of a season-long process after he was granted a preliminary injunction, blocking the suspension for district judge in Sherman Texas, the Tuesday before the season opener.

The case will be heard in Judge Katherine Polk Failla's courtroom.
