Twitter responds after Trump's account briefly deactivated by departing employee

In the end, the Trump's account was missing for a total of 11 minutes.

Initially, the @TwitterGov account - charged with providing updates from the company's Government and Elections team - said the inadvertent deactivation was caused by human error and that the social media giant was taking steps to make sure it didn't happen again.

"We are conducting a full internal review", it said on the official Twitter Government account.

It's not uncommon for technology companies like Twitter to rely on third-party workers for a range of tasks, some of them more sensitive than others.

"We are making it clear that context - including if the behavior is targeted, if a report has been filed and by whom, and if the Tweet itself is newsworthy and in the legitimate public interest - is crucial when evaluating abusive behavior and determining appropriate enforcement actions", Twitter said in a statement.

'Fast and Furious' Feud Continues as Tyrese Lays Down an Ultimatum
Tyrese allegedly pleaded with his costar not to make the film as it would, in his opinion, "hurt" the Fast franchise. Gibson's representatives did not respond toUSA TODAY's requests for comment or elaboration on the post.

The outage sparked discussion of the security of Trump's account, given the potentially dire consequences of messages falsely attributed to the president.

A spokesperson for the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. This morning, Trump blamed a "rogue employee".

The site announced it would investigate the matter just after 8 p.m. Thursday and later revealed that it was a "Twitter customer service employee" who shut the president out from his favorite platform.

After the account was restored Trump did not tweet about the vanishing act, but made several posts on other topics.

The as yet unidentified Twitter employee probably committed a crime shutting down Trump's Twitter account, but I hope he's not in any serious trouble. Thank you mystery hero.
