Trump pressures Justice Department to probe 'crooked Hillary'

Donna Brazile at the Radisson Hotel on February 5

Last year's presidential primary between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders was "rigged" by the Democratic National Committee - just as Sanders' supporters suspected - to hand the nomination to Clinton, according to a bombshell claim by Donna Brazile.

When Woodruff remarked that was a "powerful charge", Warren said what Democrats have to focus on is "the process was rigged". After WikiLeaks released hacked (or leaked) emails revealing that Brazile had passed the questions to the Clinton team ahead of a primary debate, CNN severed ties with her. She also wrote that Sanders' attacks inflicted "lasting damage" on her campaign and opened the door for Trump's "Crooked Hillary" label.

"The funding arrangement with HFA [Hillary for America presidential campaign committee] and the victory fund agreement was not illegal, but it sure looked unethical", Brazile writes in an excerpt of the book published by Politico.

Trump and his campaign are subjects of a wide-ranging investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

"Everybody is asking why the Justice Department (and FBI) isn't looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & the Dems", Trump tweeted.

"It's got to have an outcome that really has the confidence of the people", she said. What about the deleted E-mails, Uranium, Podesta, the Server, plus, plus, people are angry.

US Captures Man Wanted in 2012 Killing of Four Americans in Benghazi
The mastermind of the attack, Ahmed Abu Khatallah, is now on trial in Washington. US officials have said very little about the details of the raid.

-"People are angry. At some point the Justice Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, must do what is right and proper". The American public, he said, "deserves it". "Crooked Hillary bought the DNC & then stole the Democratic Primary from Crazy Bernie!" he said.

US President Donald Trump on Friday pressured the Justice Department and the FBI to investigate Hillary Clinton, ticking through a slew of issues involving the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee and her party, and urging law enforcement to "do what is right and proper".

In a fourth tweet, Trump alleged that "the real story on Collusion" is the fundraising agreement noted in Brazile's book.

To have Warren - someone that liberals pleaded with to enter the 2016 race and who remains a folk hero in the progressive community - confirm in no uncertain terms that she believes the whole Democratic primary fight was rigged is stunning.

Late Thursday, Trump tweeted without evidence that he believed they had acted "illegally".

Ms Brazile said joint fundraising committees were created between the DNC and both the Clinton and Sanders campaigns during the 2016 election cycle. Months later, Clinton's chief challenger, independent Sen. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced out as chairman over the emails, which indicated the party organization unfairly favored Clinton over Sanders during the primary. But in the midst of the general election campaign, Sanders, Weaver and most of the other top staff on Sanders' campaign urged the party to move on.
