Gareth Southgate delivers England warnings to Wilshere and Smalling

Southgate will begin finalising his team ahead of next summer's World Cup in Russia

Wilshere could break back into the England picture when boss Gareth Southgate announces his squad today for friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joe Gomez received first senior call-ups, while Danny Rose and Jamie Vardy returned after injuries.

Southgate on Wilshere: "I don't know how you get in an England squad if you're not in the Arsenal team".

"These lads are players who, right through the age groups, have been recognised as being our best players and they're all playing well with their clubs and having a good impact".

Wenger told arsenal.com: "Personally, I think he's ready", said the Frenchman.

"The players we are bringing in now - the likes of Harry Winks of Tottenham, Gomez, Loftus-Cheek - they are comfortable with the ball".

A Federal Judge Just Blocked Donald Trump's Transgender Military Ban
In a ruling handed down on Monday, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly blocked parts of Trump's ban related to "accession and retention". At the same time, however, she dismissed the plaintiffs' motion to block a ban on funding for sex-reassignment surgery.

"There are some young players for whom this is a good opportunity. So while if I had to do it tomorrow I'd know who I'd take, over the next six months that could evolve drastically".

"If you go back to our teams that have done well, over a period of years they were in Champions League semi-finals, finals, winners".

"He becomes a possibility at wing-back, but I think (Kieran) Trippier was outstanding last night (in Tottenham Hotspur's 3-1 win over Real Madrid), Kyle Walker excellent (in Manchester City's 4-2 win at Napoli)".

"That's only going to build their confidence and benefit us as a country". So for me to see those guys is no different to watching the U16s, U17s, U18s, because I can see a different sort of technical player coming through the system.

England play Germany on Friday, November 10, and welcome Brazil the following Tuesday.
