Dovizioso dominates wet M'sia MotoGP practice

Malaysia MotoGP: Marc Marquez on the brink of fourth world title

If Marquez comes first or second, regardless of the result that Dovizioso achieves in Malaysia, he will win his fourth MotoGP title.

Dovizioso holds the second spot in the MotoGP World Standing 2017 with 236 points, 33 points behind Honda's Spanish rider Marc Marquez, who is eying his fourth title, reports Efe.

The Spaniard's closest rival is Italy's Andrea Dovizioso who finished a poor 13th place in Australia - his worst performance of the season - and picked up only three points.

"I was happy with the pace, happy more or less with the rhythm and now we wait to see what happens with the weather tomorrow", Marquez said.

Dovizioso won the race previous year for Ducati and set the pace yesterday in both the wet and dry in free practice with a best lap of 2mins 00.671secs.

Ducati's Alvaro Bautista of Spain rode his machine to the second fastest time, posting 2:00.742, while Yamaha rider Johann Zarco of France was third fastest.

"Also I did a not good lap, and for that reason we are seventh".

Second T20I: Pakistan wins toss, opts to field against Sri Lanka
The first T20 will begin at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday on 09:00 pm as per Pakistan Standard Time (PST). But several Sri Lanka players won't be there.

He said: "Here in the past I've had some ups and downs, it's not one of my best tracks but I have a good advantage".

"I will try to learn from him because he is riding very well".

"In the past in the dry we've never been very competitive, but I expect it will be different this year".

He lacked confidence to push on this bike and found himself down in seventh - just the second time in his premier class career he has qualified outside of the top two rows - while Dovizioso guided his Ducati to third. Then we went left, but was too late.

"In FP4 I started to feel again the (good) feeling with the bike, but the thing is when I went out in Q2, I went out with that bike, I crashed".

The front row of the grid was separated by a total time of 0.024 seconds. Marquez has no problem getting to the front, and if he can sustain his usual speed, he'll clinch the title one round early.
